Dear Diary,

I am going through a very heavy week. It’s teaching me something. It’s teaching me perseverence. It’s teaching me well and hard. Now I’m beginning to understand what it means when they say, it’s not you that keep yourself in the rows, it’s Allah’s decision. Given a day’s burden where people don’t care what to come to you later in the day, continuing with a full night of extra curricular activities for a profitable investment, you would argue with yourself whether or not tomorrow is allowed to be the same. Diary, I’m learning.

I’m understanding what my father means when he said he’s tired while sitting on the couch years ago when he was still the headmaster. I know why he was able to sleep in just seconds. I’m learning why he appreciated my mother’s effort giving him a massage on his shoulder right after work. Now, I’m adding more values to my observations. Diary, does it always have to go through this path? Or do I have another option? Tell me if you know of any, Diary.

Rabbana afrigh ‘alaina sobran, wathabbit aqdamana, wanshurna ‘alal qaumil kaafirin…

Have your say
